Glad to see that you are spending a few days in Bangkok. Too many travelers get off the flight from overseas and try to head out to somewhere else - immediately! Schedule your last night for Bangkok so you don't have to worry about connecting flights breaking down and you miss your ride home.
There are two airports in Bangkok make sure you know which airport you fly out of. A few local, within Thailand flights do leave from Suvarnabhumi but many others leave from Don Muang (DMK.) Some discount airlines have weight allowances. You might consider storing some unneeded items at your hotel in Bangkok. There is a left luggage facility at the airport too.

Yip it shouldn't be a problem, there are heaps of travel agents in Bangkok that offer flights. I went to Thailand and booked travel from a little travel shop in Bangkok and it all went fine. Not sure about how long in advance... we booked two days before we travelled but i don't know if that was lucky or normal....
yeah you can easily book a flight from bangkok but book in advance like a couple of days before
