patong is bar central on phuket,but out of patong....
My personal favourite is on the road to Rawai from Karon.The road follows the cliffs around numerous bays and is very hilly for about 5km south of kata/karon.The name of the bar is a blur but it's very laid back(very), reggae based,but not too much and stunning views,being built on stilts over the cliff side.Sure,it's not exactly conveniently located but is a must go.A beer is around 70bht,but after 1 or 10 who cares
I was too trashed to remember any of the names of the bars.
however, if you are paying more than a buck a beer, you are getting ripped off. Thailand rocks!
ps. good thing you are bring your gf, cause it's also the tranny capital of the world, bangkok at least.. ;- )

So both of you couples wish to honeymoon in Phuket,well the main centre-point is Patong beach area.The Paradise Complex at Soi 5 which is a hotel I stayed before and is within the walking distance to all the A Go-Go Bars.
Find out the time of the shows and then check-in so that you won't be overcharge on other extraordinary.
Most of the bars along Soi Bangla have the price menu displayed so you won't be ripped off.
